The year 2024 has been a true victory lap for Aston Martin. It was a year that saw the brand celebrate a wealth of successes, marked by an array of glittering occasions across the world. From landmark sporting events to exclusive opening parties, momentous anniversaries and long-awaited launches – each underpinned by the synergistic dual ethos that continues to define Aston Martin: a reverence for heritage, combined with a drive to reimagine ultra-luxury performance.
Among the moments that seamlessly combined legacy and luxury was the relaunch of a beloved flagship model: the Aston Martin Vanquish. First introduced in 2001, the original Vanquish V12 sped straight into the spotlight on screen, driven by Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond in Die Another Day, and featured in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Italian Job. So, it was only fitting to unveil the newly minted edition against the backdrop of the Venice Film Festival. Hosted at the Marina Militare, beside the sparkling waters of the Venetian lagoon, the event’s exclusive guest list featured prominent figures from cinema, business and the arts. Among the attendees were Daniel Craig, George and Amal Clooney, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Douglas, Kevin Costner, Grammynominated musician Masego and award-winning Italian jazz performer Walter Ricci. Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso – fresh from the Italian Grand Prix – arrived to present the new Vanquish, perfectly reflecting the brand’s dedication to high-performance engineering for both track and road.
The latest edition of the V12 flagship takes the title of the highest-performing sports car in Aston Martin’s core line-up and is the only model in the portfolio to feature a bespoke 12-cylinder engine. Coveted and scarce, the model will have a strictly limited production run of just 1,000 cars per year.
The rebirth of Aston Martin’s most revered icons continued throughout 2024. The brand-new Vantage was unveiled at the start of the year, followed by the Valiant – the trackfocused version of the Valour – taking Goodwood Festival of Speed by storm during the summer.
Back in London, Aston Martin marked the 60th anniversary of its partnership with the 007 film franchise in style at Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade. The DB5, the brand’s first big-screen star, cemented its iconic status as Bond’s gadget-laden car in Goldfinger in 1964, becoming a pillar of British culture. A pop-up experience in Mayfair offered a unique glimpse into both the history of the partnership and Aston Martin’s future. Guests slipped through a hidden door into a secret speakeasy, complete with a bar stocked with Bollinger, original sketches and schematics from the archives, and the original Goldfinger script. Eagle-eyed fans also spotted hidden hints at a yet-to-launch Aston Martin model.
Travelling north, the DBX707 rose to the challenge of high-octane ice driving on Finland and Sweden’s snow-coated plains. A select group of customers had the unique opportunity to take on the adventure behind the wheel of the world’s most accomplished high-performance SUV, revelling in the combination of performance and playfulness it makes possible – especially in extreme conditions.
The DBX707’s European showcase didn’t stop there. Aston Martin also presented the SUV supercar in Rome, alongside their sponsorship of the prestigious equestrian event Piazza di Siena – and in the scenic Scottish countryside, where it handled rugged off-road terrain with ease.
With so many notable events throughout the year, what better way to celebrate than through the images that defined them?
