When Aston Martin and Brough Superior teamed up to create the AMB 001 – the first motorcycle to bear the marque’s iconic wings – they redefined the limits of superbike design. Then came the Pro model. Once again drawing visual cues from the design language Aston Martin applies to its luxury cars, the AMB 001 Pro displays a level of elegance rarely seen on two wheels, alongside a formidable boost in power – inspired by the marque’s no-rules hypercar, the Aston Martin Valkyrie.
Retaining its predecessor’s 997cc turbocharged V-twin engine, the AMB 001 Pro’s output was increased from 180 to an astounding 225 horsepower, thanks to Brough Superior’s equipment upgrades – an extraordinary figure for any motorcycle. The aerodynamics of the AMB 001 Pro, true to its ferocious muse, are equally impressive. Downforce is enhanced through the front spoiler, side wings and front cowl, now fixed to the bodywork. The rear fin and aero stabiliser keep the AMB 001 Pro firmly planted on the track. Meanwhile, an innovative tunnel-effect air blade channels airflow over the rider, enhancing both speed and control.
“The rider becomes part of this moving sculpture and will feel as though they are one with the track when lying atop the AMB 001 Pro,” says Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, of the motorcycle – a track-only marvel that is as beautiful as it is powerful.
With only 88 units of the AMB 001 Pro ever made, new images showcasing the superbike’s dynamic track capabilities are all the more exhilarating, offering a rare glimpse of how its game-changing design allows man to merge with machine.
